The title has absolutely nothing to do with this look, I’ve been listening to The Decemberists and “Down By The Water” is stuck in my head. For anyone who hasn’t listened to anything by The Decemberists, check out that song! it kinda reminds me of 70s Tom Petty! hehe. On to the look, I was playing around with vintage 70s looks and when I put this dress on by Gato it just sang to me! I wish I could find something like this in RL…me thinks a trip to zee vintage shop is in order soon! BTW, Gato is so awesomecakes! I love all of the vintagey/hipster type stuff there. Check it out!

Helloooo! I've been playing catch up the past week, with the color challenges. My RL got really insaaaane, so I wasn't able to keep up like I would have wanted. I'm working on Taupe now, but I have Cerise, Green, Silver, Sienna and Indigo posted up on my flickr page. I didn't want to take up blog space with old news, so if you're interested click the little linky link!

I'm not sure where I came up with this look at, I really wanted to see what I could do with the sweater from Gato but at the same time I had been mentally scrolling through my head for a few days on what I could do with the Emery jeans I had just picked up. So..I decided to see what happened together and everything just fell into place! Though, I was told by a friend that I looked like I needed to be in school. haha! I also wanted to try and work out a little picture taking area with the Old Attic from Reek. I always have found attics fascinating, so many things to be found in them! Also, a great place to play dress up with all the old clothes up there ;)

This weeks color for the 52 weeks of color challenge is Sepia. When I first saw it was going to be Sepia... I had a total WTF face. "WTF AM I GOING TO DO!!!?" was my reaction. So I thought about it, and thought about it, and thought about it some more. Sepia reminded me of old photographs from yesteryear...which somehow in my mind tripped into thinking about Spaghetti Westerns....and as I thought about that, I went "YESSSSSSSSSSSS!". It's been a long time since I've blogged anything. To tell the truth, I was just bored with it. Blogging, planning outfits, photoshopping, SL itself...I burned myself out and couldn't muster up any type of creativity to keep doing it. BUT...recently I've gotten a glimmer of my former obsession back! Hopefully I can keep it going, because even though its easy to get burned out and bored with it, I still love blogging and SL fashion.

That being said, I changed my shape up a bit. I fell in love with Laqroki's Glow Skin line, Especially Tess2 and Phoebe2, so I decided to make my "bones" more laq friendly. This look was inspired by the bright blue eyeshadow of this skin, it's fun and flirty and bright and youthful, so I came up with something that spoke to all of those things. Also, can I just add that I am SOOOOOOO HAPPPYYYYYYYYYY that Elikapeka Tiramisu is back and making hair? All her new releases under the new brand [e] are so adorable and beautifully made. She is so talented and I am so glad she is back!

It feels like Spring is taking forever to get here. I'm so tired of winter and the blahhness of it. This outfit happened by accident. I was *attempting* to organize my inventory, and keeping with my goal of getting said inventory from 32,000 and some change items, down to under 20,000 (good luck, right?)...in doing so I came across this dress that I totally forgot I had (I love when that happens...rediscovery *sighs happily*). I ended up only using the skirt part of the dress, but it's definitely going to stay in my inventory for later uses. I kind of wanted to play off the softness of the skirt and give a little edge to the look, by pairing it with the cropped rider jacket. I think I executed what I was trying to pull off :D

Today's look brought to you by Tiger....Woods that is. I saw this Tee on the Feed as a new release from Kenzie Craven (Kenzie&Co) and giggled as I logged in to go grab it up. The Tee says "I slept with Tiger" with a picture of a Tiger (probably not very P.C but um...it brought some Lawlz for me). I know we all know the story of what Tiger Woods did, so I won't get into it too much, except to reiterate that he is a TOOL of epic proportions. I want to also give a little girl power fist pump to his wife Elin...true or not, I commend her for taking a 9 iron to his car :D and for being strong during the time since the news broke about it all. ok this is in no way fashion related but...I need help!

A few days ago my friends and I were "tossed on our butts" from our island. No notice...no message sent to any of us...no explanation whatsoever...just our stuff returned to us by the owner. grr. Anyway, I'm looking for a new home and I have no clue about going about it. I've spent the past 2 hours searching for what I want but to no avail. SO...I'm asking you for ideas. I dont want anything extravagant, I just want a spot to throw down a skybox, have control over land rights/media settings, minimal prims (only planning on putting out a skybox, photo taking stuff, lil bit of furniture...so like...250-300 prims?), low tier payments (nothing more than 1000L a week). Is that asking too much? lol. Anyway...if anyyyyone has an idea of where I should look, leave me a comment please? *begs*

Haiti Relief

As we all know by now, Haiti has gone through a horrifying natural disaster. Its been absolutely heart wrenching seeing the images coming out of there on all the major news networks and publications. Haitians, who have lived mergerly (and thats stretching), have lost everything....absolutely everything. Millions of people around the world are now focusing their attention on this small impoverished nation and doing whatever they can, even if its only something small as donating 5 dollars. As been reported, getting supplies into the country is a logistical nightmare, and what is really needed is money more then anything. So, I'm going to post some links for anyone who would like to give as much or as little as you can.

Sort of Inspiration...

I hope everyone had a great Holiday/New Year! I've been struggling to get back into the swing of things, but I managed to throw this together, to hopefully get me re-started.
I started with some cute *LP* Designs stuff that Liberty dropped on me a few weeks ago. The first being the versatile ho-dress/high-waisted knit skirt. It comes in a variety of colors and can be worn as a dress or skirt. If you wear it as a dress, theres no um...top..part...its one of those "oops i'm drunk and the top of my dress fell down and i didnt notice!" dresses. Plus side? comes with cute x-shaped pasties for all you modest girls out there. The second *LP* item is the jeans. I really dig the texture and all the zippers. I love zippers! I'm also wearing the Althena boots from Kookie, I haven't blogged them yet and I just wanted to put in that they are sooo sooo soooooo well done! Love them!

I'm finally getting around to blogging some of the things from Designers United II event. I didn't want to do it when it first opened up because the feeds were inundated with things from it, and I was getting a bit sick of looking at it myself! I do believe the event is over now, but for those of you who went and got some of the stuff if not all of it...let us bask in the afterglow!

I do believe my new favorite color is black. Its sleek, sophisticated, edgy, sexy, strong, bold...you can look sweet and strong at the same time with this color! This top from Beetlebones was the first thing that rezzed for me in the store, it was love at first sight. I love the feather fluff on the shoulder! I had to find a black skirt to match the specific black of the top, with a bit of shading also...I couldn't for the life of me find a skirt separate in my entire inventory. Travesty, I tell you. SO, This Is Fawn Stringy Dress saved my life....well...look. While the tones are almost exact, there is a slight difference...but honestly you can only tell if you are zoomed up on it. I had a tough time with a shoe choice. I Spent 45 minutes and a Tuk Tuk ride from my girl bubs, trying to figure out a shoe choice. I finally settled on the Five Belt Boots from Anexx in this special edition color Purple (was made for Euni Kira's blog HQ, they are located at Euni's blog HQ, and a damn STEAL at 200L!!! GO NOW!!!), A. I wanted to break up the monotone black and B. because I wanted something to balance out the weight of the shoulder piece, and it wasn't working with slim heels and boots. Anyway, enough blathering and on to the photo.

I've been sitting on this outfit for a while now, I figured-while I was already on here posting the last outfit I'd get this one up too! I've been playing with layering prim peices on top of eachother...sometimes it works...sometimes it fails horribly. Thankfully I was able to put this together with no issues. This is probably a skill I should have developed a while ago, but I'm pretty impatient when it comes to attatching at other spots and editing around stuff...hehe. I absolutely adore this jacket by TOSL, I've been itching to wear it now that fall has returned! Its chic looking but also looks very warm and cozy, my favorite... :D (I'd also like to thank my pal Loik for helping me decide on which shoes to pair with this, I think I about drove her nuts asking opinions!)

So...I'm like 2 months late on this but um...thats how I do. LOL. I had these done and uploaded to my flickr but I never got around to posting them. my bad :(

I usually don't do blogger challenges, for whatever reason, but this one from Hybrid I just had to take time to do. I find that in both SL and RL, people dont view plus sized women as beautiful or fanshionable...look at the runways of both worlds. In RL tiny girls who are size 0 (they claim they are size 2's because thats what designers make their runway clothes to fit but come on now), all bony legs and ribs showing off. In SL its about the same thing, skinny, long legs, no hips...meh. I myself have bought into it, my avie being small in stature. The average women (in the U.S.) is a size 14. I don't think women who aren't like the models and hollywood starlets should be ashamed of the fact. If you're an average sized woman or above...embrace your curves! Celebrate them!

So...thats why I wanted to do this. I took my shape and chunked her up and I found that I actually loved the way I looked! I wore that shape for about a week, and still have it in my inventory...I plan on doing more posts in the future with that shape! Colorful Fun

It all started with the shoes. I saw them on the Fashion Feed and I fell in love. I got them, put them on, and haven't taken them off since. The straps and the base of the shoe are all scripted to change colors with already built in colors. you can do it individually or there are built in presets, some with colors that aren't in the individual strap menu! There are so many color options, I am so loving playing with them! The only drawback is that they were made for size 11 feet. If you have a taller AV, then its no problem to change your foot size and it looks normal. On my short self, they kinda look a lil clunky. BUT, they are so cute and have so many options that its kinda of moot. Can't wait to see more releases from kalnins!!

By the way, I realize I have worn the wrist tattoo by smudge/tiny bird in the past like, 8 posts but um...I can't take them off. I really dig them! plus, freebie! go get it at Tiny Bird, i dont know how long it will be available!

Finally picked up the cute summer dresses from (P-K), she has a bunch of sweet summer colors for this dress but for this pictures purpose i chose white (boooringgg...but the dress is so cute who cares?!). Oh and the sandals...(Milk Motion)...I. WANT!! They come in the short version (shown) and also a tall version!! I'm still working on editing the tall version to fit my big ol' calfs (only downside to resize scripts *le sigh*), so I cant post them but believe me, they are adorable.

I was putting down a few things in my flower garden and was inspired by it...so i threw this little thing on. The tank is absolutely adorable...I love the little flowers in the pockets! I often do this in RL, when out walking, picking flowers (ok so maybe I run into peoples yards and snip a bud or two...SHH) and putting them on my body somehow or another. Also....the new flip-flops from Creamshop? Adore! i love that the toes aren't "perfect", they look like normal, average toes (lets face it, the percentage of people out there with cute feet or toes is like .02%)!

If you didn't know this, I'm an american. Today we voted for a new president...I voted for Barack Obama. Why you ask? Simply put, he gave me hope for a better future, for both myself and my country. I'm not going to drone on and gloat, I'll simply leave you with two sections of his victory speech that touched me.

As Lincoln said to a nation far more divided than ours, "We are not enemies, but friends…though passion may have strained it must not break our bonds of affection." And to those Americans whose support I have yet to earn – I may not have won your vote, but I hear your voices, I need your help, and I will be your President too.
And to all those watching tonight from beyond our shores, from parliaments and palaces to those who are huddled around radios in the forgotten corners of our world – our stories are singular, but our destiny is shared, and a new dawn of American leadership is at hand. To those who would tear this world down – we will defeat you. To those who seek peace and security – we support you. And to all those who have wondered if America's beacon still burns as bright – tonight we proved once more that the true strength of our nation comes not from our the might of our arms or the scale of our wealth, but from the enduring power of our ideals: democracy, liberty, opportunity, and unyielding hope. There are 2 items I am wearing in this photo in which I had to hunt down like Bambi. The first are the knitted boots. I saw Miabella Foxley wearing them in one of her posts. I searched the creator as she suggested and TP'd to the location given...well...t'weren't as easy as that! It took me half an hour to locate the store, but goddamnit it was well worth the effort because these boots are amazing (and cheap!!!)! They look so warm and cozy and wonderful, I want to wear them all the time! The other item was the Pop Tart by Pink Fuel. That took me about 20 minutes to locate with the help of some friends. Well worth the search also. The pop tart is scripted to change textures! bwaha! I don't know about you all, but I find that I appreciate and love the items that I have to put more effort into finding. The thrill of the hunt ;)

I don't know what kind of mood I was in when I was putting this together, but man did I have fun doing it! This is something I would wear in RL, I like being colorful and funky and unique (which I'm sure everyone is). I really love UnToneQuilt's sweatshirt dresses, this one in particular because it comes with different prim bottoms. There is the one in the picture, another that has things in the pockets (lipstick, coin purse, sunglasses), and one that is a shorter one for wearing with pants. I have to give a shout out to Maitreya for making the cutest messy pony tail evar! It's so friggen adorable, I don't think I've taken it off since I bought it at Hair Fair last week! (Hair Fair is still going on, get over there..have a hair orgasim...support a great charity!)

Yes, Yes...I know. You are probably checking the date on the calendar. No need to worry, the earths rotation didn't change; we didn't go back in time...I'm just a day late and a dollar short. Anyway, moving on...

Independence Day has always been one of my favorite holidays because 'We the People' put aside our differences, for a little while at least, and celebrate our country and what it is to be an american. Watching fireworks displays while listening to our patriotic music, I always get chills and it always makes me think about all the sacrificies our service men and women had to make to ensure our nations freedom. SO, with that in mind, I felt inspired to dress in red whte and blue. I wanted to see what I could come up with, without looking like I made a thong bikini out of the flag (though I'm sure I have one somewhere in my inventory).

RL woes...

Hi there. I try not to post about real life things in here, because I want to keep it a fun fashion blog but...The past week has been...well...hectic. I live in the midwest, Iowa to be exact...and as of right now we are having the worst flooding in our history. 83 of our 99 counties are declared disaster areas. 5 of our biggest cities (there are only like 7 or 8 large cities in iowa) are flooded out. I think i rad today that 20% of our grain crops are ruined, resulting in millions of dollars of losses for our farmers here. Not a good situation at all. I only thank God that we haven't had a lot of fatalities with this. That would really just...break our hearts even more. *shakes head* The waters are slowly receeding in some areas, but today and possibly tomarrow we had heavy rain/severe thunderstorms roll through so we don't know yet if that will make the waters go back up. One of the cities, Iowa City (University of Iowa is located here), has yet to have their river crest. as of right now its set to crest on wednesday AM at a whopping 34 feet. keep in mind please that flood stage for that area is like 15 feet. Thankfully in my city, we haven't had that much flooding (I'd like to send a shout out to my forefathers who had the sense to build a huge floodwall for us after the last flood), mostly we've been busy trying to help the other communities that have been devestated. We are also having a huge traffic problem because the DOT had to shut down an important interstate, so all that traffic has been diverted through here. Its not a fun time right now.

Also, while all this was happening, my kitten passed away. She was only 2 1/2 months old, and while I only had her for about a month...she really wormed her way into my heart. Its amazing to me how in such a short period of time, a person can come to love a creature so much that it affects you so badly. She was the sweetest, funniest, most loving, smartest cat i've ever owned (and I've owned a lot). She deffinitly set the standard high for myself and my roomate. The day after she passed I was dinking around and looking at her pictures, when I decided I was going to base an outfit around her...so I'll close this post with this:

For as long as I can remember, I have been obsessed with the fashion's of yeaster-year. One era that really holds a special place in my heart, are the 40's-50's pin-up girls. The women look sweet, sexy, and show off all the curves that makes women, women. So...When I saw the notice from ICING about the little swimsuit number aptly named "Angel Food Cake", I practically broke myself TPing over to snap it up. Not only is it a swimsuit, but it also comes with a longer prim skirt to make it a fun little dress! It also has little bows on the chest and on the back of the neck, completing the halter neck style.

Can we say "awwwww"! When I saw this new pose from Meya, I ran over and bought it, already thinking of the multiple ways I coule use this. The pose is so sweet! As soon as I got back home, I did a quick change of me and Das and had some fun with it. hee! I also want to add in here that in the pose's ad, those jeans were worn and I also had to run around and get them for myself and Das...hehehe. They are so awesome though, its not often you can find a really great torn denim jean! Also, the prim bottoms are molded in such a way that they look like they are slouched on your foot like what happens in real life! I love that attention to detail! Anyhoot..here's pics of the outfits seperately so you can sees :D

With my skin, I kind of wanted it to look like we had just gotten done making out a little (slut it up a little bit) which worked out well because the day before, I had popped over to Starlust to check it out and found this skin in the main lobby freebie area! The corset belt is is effing orgasmic and comes in a multitude of colors. The stacked up necklace comes in black white and red. The biker gloves add a pinch of bad ass into any outfit and also comes in different textures

Due to a selfish and probably unstable person, the designers either packed up and left or had their items reteurned to them and their store deleted. Also have to say, that while I had never really had a decent conversation with Cate D outside the obligatory hello's and how are you's, she will truely be missed! <3

I got the shirt from !BF!...check out the store because there are butt loads of other quirky cute shirts (I recommend the shirt that says "you say potato, I say fuck you" best.shirt.ever), you can also buy a add on pack thinger where you can get different collar's and hems to go under the shirt. Great Idea! I must have really been feeling the color blue that day, as I paired the tee up with some newish items from Armidi and (Elephant Outfitters).

This cute little vest and hot pants is a sexy/simple outfit that I lurve. Its from Kurotsubaki, who never ceases to amaze me! For those of you who aren't in to showing the flab, its multi layer options let you wear something more modest underneath. Did I mention I love the little hot pants that come with it? they are short but not so short that you have ass cleavage....YAY cute/classy/sexy all rolled into one hempy outfit.

And finally (I had one more outfit but I forgotted to write down the creds so...yeah..) is a new release from [RANDOM]. Garbage Prototype just revamped and released over 200 new items. Before the release, in looking at the little "teasers" I saw this tunic on one of the models and instantly started salivating. I love tunics in RL, and the hand drawn texture and cute little bow just did it for me. It comes in a menagerie of colors...it was so hard picking a color(i'm going back for more, believe me...just waiting for Linden Lab(©®™♠☼@&%)to get their ish together) so I finally decided on Yellow because yellow, to me, just screams SPRING!
